  • Gluteus Minimus helps abduct, internally rotate, and flex the hip. It is used when making circular movements with the thighs. It also stabilizes the pelvis and hips when the one leg is raised.

5. Quadriceps

  • Vastus Lateralis allows the extension of the lower leg and lets the body stand up from a squatting position.
  • Vastus Medialis permits the extension of the leg at the knee and stabilizes the kneecap.
  • Vastus Intermedius allows the extension of the leg at the knee.
